Dear Stamp Committee Members:

I am proposing that you nominate Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music,
for a commemorative postage stamp.

Bill Monroe was a true original, a country poet who put to music the
thoughts and emotions of many rural people in America. He deserves to be
remembered with a commemorative stamp.

Thank You.

Sample #2

Dear Members of the Stamp Advisory Committee:

Please nominate Bill Monroe for a commemorative postage stamp. He was my
favorite country artist. As a member of the Grand Ole Opry for
57 years, he was a mainstay of true country music for generations.
His country should remember his contributions to our culture with a
postage stamp.

Yours truly,

Sample #4

Dear Stamp Committee:

I suggest that you seriously consider Bill Monroe, the Father of
Bluegrass Music, for a commemorative stamp. His contributions to
American music and culture are just now being appreciated, following
his death in 1996. He is truly worthy of the honor.

Sample #5

Dear Stamp Committee Members.

Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music, is one of the only American
musicians to originate a separate and distinct genre of music. His
contributions to our culture must be remembered by the country that
he loved. A commemorative postage stamp would be an appropriate and
fitting honor to his memory.

Thank you.
